In 2002, Kate launched Australia’s first personalised jewellery business from her home studio, long before customisation became a global trend. Over the past 23 years, she has built, evolved and reimagined her brand—most recently as UbyKate—into a powerhouse of personal storytelling and connection.
Kate’s entrepreneurial path has faced some challenges along the way, she will discuss how these have impacted her business and the journey to opening her flagship Sydney store, The House of U. Her resilience, reinvention and belief in backing herself have defined her journey—and made her a standout mentor and role model for women in business.
Before launching her business, Kate spent over a decade as a journalist and TV producer, which has influenced the way she tells her brand story and connects with community. Today, her company is a thriving family business—run alongside her husband and 22-year-old daughter, the brand’s General Manager.
