Ready to turn your video clips into an engaging Reel for your business?

(A Reel is a short, vertical video on Instagram designed to quickly capture attention and engage viewers, often using music, text, or quick clips to showcase a product, tell a story, or share behind-the-scenes moments from a business.)

Join us for this practical workshop designed for Sisters who are new to creating Reels and want to learn how to make their content more engaging. In this interactive session, you’ll learn simple tips for structuring a Reel, choosing clips that capture attention, and editing them together to tell a short story about your business.

We’ll walk through demonstrations step-by-step and then give you time to create and edit your own Reel live during the session, with guidance along the way.

To get the most out of the workshop, we encourage you to come prepared with a few short video clips filmed vertically on your phone that we can use for editing during the session.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a better understanding of how Reels work and ideally a finished Reel ready to share for your business.

In this session we will be creating a ‘Day in the Life’ reel, capture some video footage on your phone ahead of the session, so you can work through the process of editing and uploading live in the workshop, here are some ideas for footage to take before the session:

Day in the life clips:
1. Start by showing face – selfie style wave to camera, in mirror or film yourself with a tripod
2. Coffee and breakfast on the table
3. Typing at laptop
3. Movement of some sort – film your feet walking, film the dog running in the park
4. Doing your work – packing an order, filming yourself sat at the laptop, on the phone (you can pretend)
5. Film something specific like your product or anything that is branded (business card or film your screen with your website open)
6. Clock off – this can be closing the computer, tuning off the light in your office or workplace, or getting into the car (just film your hand opening the car door
7. Film an afterword ritual personal to you – this can be making a green tea, meditation, sunset, animal cuddle
8. Dinner time – film your plate
9. Settling in for the evening – film your book or hobby or TV
10. Wave bye – would be great if this was at night time

Tips for filming

  • Film vertically (portrait)
  • Keep clips short (3–5 seconds)
  • Try a mix of wide shots and close-ups
  • Film in good natural light if possible
